Personal Checks Are Still Necessary Purchases

In this era of online banking, ATM cards and Internet-based bill paying, it’s hard to imagine that personal checks are still necessary. The fact is they are. There are a number of circumstances where people still need good, old fashion bank checks to get their business done.
While it’s true the need for paper is not quite as high as it once was, personal checks are still a must in circumstances such as:
Paying for certain services – Doctors’ offices, lawyers, lawn services and other similar professionals don’t always have the ability to take bank, credit or debit cards. When this is the case, you have the choice in paying by cash or check.
Ordering things by mail – It can be a crapshoot to pay for mail order items by sending in a credit card number written into an order form. When personal checks are used instead, a greater degree of comfort is felt. After all, it is much easier to cancel an outstanding check then it is to get unwanted charges removed from a credit card.
Paying some bills – Some people prefer to continue to pay their bills using bank checks. While this might seem “slower” and “old fashioned,” it does get the job done right. Plus, it creates a paper trail that computer payments might not.
Giving gifts – Personal checks are still favored by many who like to give money for birthdays and other special occasions. There is security in going this route, too. If the recipient loses the check, it can be canceled and reissued. If a gift card or cash get lost, they’re generally gone for good.
Personal checks still serve a very important purpose. When saving money on the prospect is desired, it can pay to go online to order checks. Those who use reputable online printers find the costs associated with checks orders are low and the selection of check styles is high.
